I'm actually not going to follow up with that opening Hi! I'm the webmaster, Kaf, writing directly into YOUR eyes! I realized I never made one of these. I've seen a couple of these ~manifestos~ on other sites so I may as well write my own. Maybe I could start with a little more about me?
I really enjoy the self expression I've seen here on neocities and other personal sites in general, I feel like so many people yearn for the freedom of site making but often stick to carrd and other website builders; I wanted to try breaking that mould, even if the alternative was a little more niche. This site has evolved a lot over time, I could add snapshots of previous
layouts here but... for another time. This entry might provide some explanations about my site's creation/development/origins.
This might be pretty apparent, the site, despite having no colors, has quite an ironic name! It was kind of a coincidence, Before I'd really constructed an idea of my website's
identity or theme in general, I'd been very, very, very entrenched by Splatoon. I've been a fan for some time (7 years now?), and when I made my site Splatoon 3 had just
come out? So the brainworm was worming.
sea-of-colors is a reference to the Squid Sisters' name in the japanese version (Sea O' Colors/Shiokarazu). The site aesthetic is actually an
extension of my (now defunct because i have really bad adhd and have moved on to other ocs) webcomic. You can find it here
if you want to see it. Visuals are rather rudimentary, but still maintain the monochrome aesthetic that slightly carried over here. Aesthetics have diverged a lot,
however picking the old site back up isn't out of the question.............
